Patrick Murphy & Away with the Fairys
Bio
Patrick Murphy was a singer/songwriter from Huyton, Liverpool. Born in the 60s, Patrick taught himself acoustic guitar when he was a child on an old acoustic that only had three strings on it (the others had snapped). He formed his band Away with the Fairys in the 90s. The original band members changed when Patrick moved to Denmark at the turn of the millennium and continued making music with some Danish friends he met along the way.
Several of Patrick's works have been featured in XRhodes projects:
- 'Down' became the theme song of Forward Slash/Jobs (2018-2019)
- 'Bang! Goes the Door' became the featured song on the XRhodes Films intro video
- 'No Frills' played over the credits of short film An Injection a Day (2020)
In 1991, his son Tom was born. Tom went on to become Murphy Rhodes - the owner of XRhodes.
Patrick Murphy passed away on 25th April 2019.
